HAND OPENS AND CLOSES, OPENS AND CLOSES

" Your hand opens and closes, opens and closes. If it were always a fist or always stretched open, you would be paralysed. Your deepest presence is in every small contracting and expanding, the two as beautifully balanced and coordinated as birds' wings.”

THERE IS A COMMUNITY OF SPIRIT # RUMI

There is a community of Spirit.
Join it, and feel the delight
of walking in the noisy street,
and being the noise.
Drink all your passion,
and be a disgrace.
Close both eyes,
to see with the Other Eye.
Open your hands,
if you want to be held.
Consider what you've been doing!
Why do you stay with such a mean spirited
and dangerous partner?
For the security of having food, admit it!
Here's a better arrangement: give up this life,
and get a hunderd new lives.
Sit down in this circle
Quit acting like a wolf, and feel
the Sheperd's Love filling you.
At night, your Beloved wanders.
Don't take painkillers.
Tonight, no consolations.
And don't eat.
Close your mouth against food.
Taste the Lover's mouth in yours.
You moan," but she left me. He left me."
Twenty more will come.
Be empty of worrying.
Think of Who Created Thought!
Why do you stay in prison
when the door is wide open?
Move outside the tangle of fear-thinking.
Live in Silence.
Flow down and down in always,
widening rings of Being.

" HOW DOES A PART OF THE WORLD LEAVE THE WORLD?"

How does a part of the world leaves the world?

How can wetness leave water?

Don't try to put out a fire

by trowing on more fire!

Don't wash a wound with blood!

No matter how fast you run,

your shadow more then keep up.

Sometimes, it's in front!

Only full, overhead sun

diminishes your shadow.

But that shadow has been serving you!

What hurts you, blesses you.

Darkness is your candle.

Your boundaries are your quest.

I can explain this, but it would break

the glass cover on your heart,

and there is no fixing that.

You must have shadow and light-source both.

Listen, and lay your head under the tree of Awe.

When from that tree, feathers and wings sprout

on you, be quieter than a dove.

Don't open your mouth for even a coooooo.

When a frog  slips into the water, the snake

cannot get it. Then the frog climbs back out

and croaks, and the snake moves forward towards him again.

Even if the frog learned to hiss, still the snake

would hear through the hiss the information

he needed, the frog- voice underneath.

But if the frog could be completed silent,

then the snake would go back to sleeping,

and the frog could reach the barley.

The soul lives there in the silent Breath.

And that grain of barley is such that,

when you put it in the ground,

it grows. Are these enough words,

or shall I squeeze more juice from this?

Who am I, my friends?

THE SELF WE SHARE

Image result for rumi the self we share

Thirst is anger at water, Hunger, bitter
with bread. The cave wants nothing to do

with the sun. This is dumb, the self-
defeating way we've been. A gold mine is

calling us into its temple. Instead, we
bend and keep picking up rocks from the

ground. Every thing has a shine like gold,
but we should turn to the source! The

origin is what we truly are! I add a little
vinegar to the honey I give. The bite of

scolding makes ecstatsy more familiar. But
look, fish, you're already in the ocean:

just swimming there makes you friends with
glory. What are these grudges about? You

are Benjamin. Joseph has put a gold cup
in your grain sack and accused you of being

a thief. Now he draws you aside and says,
"You are my brother. I am a prayer. You're

the amen". We move in eternal regions, yet
worry about property here. This is the

prayer of each: You are the source of my
life. You separate essence from mud. You

honor my soul. You bring rivers from the
mountain springs. You brigthen my eyes. The

wine you offer takes me out of myself into
the self we share. Doing that is religion.
