THE PATH OF THE BODHISATTVA WARRIOR

Wherever we are, we can train as a warrior. The practice of meditation, loving kindness, compassion, joy and equanimity are our tools. With the help of these practices, we can uncover the soft spot of bodhicitta, the tenderness of the awakened heart. We will find it behind that tenderness in sorrow and in gratitude. we will find it behind the hardness of rage and in the shakiness of fear. It is available in loneliness as well in kindness.

Many of us prefer practices that will not cause discomfort, yet at the same time we want to be healed. But bodhicitta training doesn't work that way. A warrior accepts that we can never know what will happen to us next. We can try to control the uncontrollable by looking for security and predictability, always hoping to be comfortable and safe. But the truth is that we can never avoid uncertainty. This not knowing is part of the adventure, and it's also what makes us afraid.

Bodhicitta training offers no promise of happy endings. Rather, this " I" who wants to find security- who wants something to hold on to- can finally learn to grow up. The central question of a warrior's training is not how we avoid uncertainty and fear but how we relate to discomfort. How do we practice with difficulty, with our emotions, with the unpredictable encounters of an ordinary day?

WHAT TO DO WHEN HAVING A PANIC ATTACK

1: Rescue remedy, take in drops or tablets.

2: Apply a drop of Valerian oil, just above the lip and breath in and out.
Or rub on hands, make cup of hands and inhale. Inhaling calming sense.

3: You can also combine Valerian oil and rescue remedy.

4: Walking and physical activities are grounding. Getting your mind of things.

5: Talk to a friend, family member, or someone you feel comfortable with.

All the remedies above are natural remedies.

David D. Burns recommends breathing exercises for those suffering from anxiety. One such breathing exercise is a 5-2-5 count. Using the stomach (or diaphragm) — and not the chest — you inhale (feel your stomach come out, as opposed to your chest expanding) for 5 seconds. As you reach the maximal point at inhalation, hold your breath for 2 seconds. Then slowly exhale, over 5 seconds. Repeat this cycle twice and then breathe 'normally' for 5 cycles (1 cycle = 1 inhale + 1 exhale). The point is to focus on the breathing and relax the heart rate. Regular diaphragmatic breathing may also be achieved by extending the out breath either by counting or even humming.


Diaphragmatic breathingabdominal breathingbelly breathing or deep breathing is breathing that is done by contracting the diaphragm, a muscle located horizontally between the chest cavity and stomach cavity. Air enters the lungs and the belly expands during this type of breathing.
This deep breathing is marked by expansion of the abdomen rather than the chest when breathing. It is considered by some to be a healthier way to breathe, and is considered by some a useful form of complementary and alternative treatment.
Diaphragmatic Breathing is also known scientifically as Eupnea, which is a natural and relaxed form of breathing in all mammals. Eupnea occurs in mammals whenever they are in a state of relaxation, ie when there is no clear and present danger in their environment.

HEALING IS EMBRACING YOURSELF AS YOU WOULD WELCOME YOUR BEST FRIEND

The headmaster of the agriculture school I attended asked me, ‘What’s up with you? 
You seem so much happier and talk more.’ ‘My parents have got divorced,’ I said joyfully. 
Their divorce was like a weight being lifted from my shoulders and heart. 
Later I would learn of my spirit and my soul journey.

This was the beginning of my letting go journey. I didn’t have to listen anymore to my father’s
complaints, receive his beatings, hear him telling me that I was ugly, stupid or crazy.
I was even able to sit down without being shouted at. In our family, rest or leisure
was equal to laziness. It was a waste of their time, not mine. I have used a lot of
energy trying to live ‘other people’s time’. I have done a lot of negative thinking

and, especially, negative feeling. Now I’m done with it!

How does a child start to feel or think negatively about him or herself? 

Why does a child think, ‘I can’t do this, I can’t do that, I am not allowed. 
Who do I think I am?’ Here are some examples of the many ‘loving’ messages
I received from my father during my teenage years:

‘You are so ugly. I don’t understand how your pretty friends can bear to walk with you on the street.’
Another was, ‘You are so stupid. Do you really think anybody is going to listen
to what you have to say?’ ‘Good for nothing, that’s what you are.’

When a child hears this kind of thing, it can take them a long time before
they can learn to let go of the unkind words. Some can never let go and
will be tormented by them for ever. Negative words are very powerful.

They act like venom and can kill your pure self. First it su๏ฌ€ocates and you can’t breathe properly. Soon it’s difficult to think, to feel or to be yourself.  Why do we keep taking in negativity more then positivity? Because when we hear only negativity every day, we are brainwashed into believing
it is the truth. Self-love is really the only thing that suits you best.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY AND TO MOTHER EARTH

One of my fav pictures of my mum and I. 

To all the women that are a mother, the peeps that have a mother and who don't have a mother anymore. I wish you all a wonderful day today! Even after my mother's 9th years crossing over anniversary last April, I still feel her sometimes. Bodies die, love never does, especially the love of a mother, in whatever way she's expresses or has expressed that in your lives together.

We had "a kind of love/hate relationship". We didn't always had the change to make up as I didn't live in Holland much. When my mother died I wasn't physically with her but we spoke through Skype. I told her that her blood runs through me, and that she didn't had to worry about her children or me. I am your daughter.

She knew what I meant by that and it had given her "permission" to let go. I know until today that when I'd spoken those words, it allowed her to find her peace within and let everyone and everything go. My family rang me two hours later that she had left her body. To let go takes love and courage.


The heart, the heart, the carrier of the soul; the soul, the soul, carrier of the body. What am I anyway? The scent of fire. Bone and blood surrounded by skin. How wonderful is our body!

In my ‘book of life’, being a good mother/parent is the biggest job of all. I have the utmost respect for all mothers who are doing this challenging work every day. Parents can only do their best.

To all the amazing mothers out there and in spirit, I think of You all today with love and great respect, Pina

BACK EXERCISES TO IMPROVE YOUR POSTURE




I'm determent to improve my whole body posture this summer.
My posture is very important, especially when I'm at work!!!

 I CAN'T WAIT TO GET BACK TO WORK

I have gotten a little lazy, so starting again slowly.
  These are just a few great exercises for getting back in my gym regime. 
Besides the lower & mid back exercises I'm adding a few side push-ups, 
abdominal crunches, etc, etc, etc. Ya know the score ๐Ÿ˜‰ Have a great sweat
