PART 3: my cholesterol lowering diet plan from nurtritionist Lucy Hyland.

I met Lucy years ago through a friend of mine, who couldn't recommend her work highly enough! I'm aware of what I put into my body to keep a healthy lifestyle, which are mostly organic produce, but we can always use some extra help of an expert! And there was Lucy :)!

After reading some parts of Lucy's~ AMAZING ~ website filled with an INCREDIBLE amount of TIPS, DIETS AND RECIPIES  http://www.foodforliving.ie/meal-plan/heart-healthy-diet/  I straight away gave her a call. Lucy is not only very knowledgeable but also very passionate about her work! I'm also very passionate about my work, so no better person for me then someone with a heart for the job! 

This time I got my dietplan from her directly online. A 55 page easy to read super detailed overview. You hardly have to think what to do, Lucy has already written everything down for you! You just have to go for it! WITH LOVE FOR YOURSELF. She does warn you in the beginning! It's a lot of chopping, but with her guidelines its fun to chop your way through the vegetables and nourish your own health and wellbeing! 

I really enjoyed it and loved the recipies. Now I make my own granola, instead of buying it in the shop and feel more in charge. It's never to late to learn something new! I picked up a lot of tips. Although my plan was a 1 week plan I can integrate her recipies into my diet for life! Or start it again another time. I love food! Good food! Thank You Lucy!

# D.D.and E. # HEALTH AND WELLBEING # Part 2 #

The month of May theme was all about your every day health and wellbeing, and what we can do ourselves to maintain a healthier lifestyle. Eating the right food, good sleep, exercising, walking, talking, letting go of un-healthy patterns.

Now it is already the month of June and finally here is part 2 # PROFFESIONAL INTERVENTION :) #

With the right Diet, Determination and Exercise, you can come a long way! The road to re-gaining health, is way less difficult with the proper help of proffesionals!

I found this out myself at my local gym where I started 2 months ago. After hearing that I have high (hereditary) choresterol, I realised that, ( if I don't want to be depended on medication) I needed proffesional help to lower it. Determined I went to my local gym. I wished I had done it years ago!!!
I have joined "the beginners class", as I like to call it myself :). I also joined the gym to improve my posture. After such a short time I already feel so much better and have less little aches. The staff is very welcoming and make you feel straight at home. Beside being friendly, they are all proffesional gym teachers/instructors. They take in account what your needs are and then help you find the right exercise plan. They also explain what the right equipment is for you, and how to use it. I love that it's a community sport center and set up and available to all ages groups.

With the great expertise and support of our gym teachers Mary and Niall, I already notice some physical changes, this only after 2 months! Not only that, but I also feel ab fab!

# ARCHANGEL MICHAEL EXERCISE #

UPON ReQUEST HeRE Is THe ExERCISe

Whether you’re cleaning crystals, balancing chakras or being grounded, it’s all equally
important in terms of being in the arms of the Universe. Everybody has his or her
own way of doing grounding exercises. Some like to call upon the Nature Spirits,
using the image of trees and their roots reaching into the ground. Others like to call
upon the angelic realm. Whichever way you like to do it is fine as long as you do
it with concentration and stillness. The Archangel Michael exercise is very effective
and can be practised indoors or outdoors, on your own or with a group, and can be
done daily, preferably in the morning, for three months.
Try not to think too much, just go into the feeling of it. Have fun with it.

For some people the grounding happens straight away and others need time to play with
it for a while. This doesn’t mean that you’re doing anything wrong, but just that you
need a bit more time practising this exercise.
Place both your feet firmly on the ground. Bend your knees a little and then keep
your legs still and relaxed in that position. Let your arms and hands hang loosely, relaxed
in their natural position. Close your eyes and imagine a line of your favourite
colour (darker colours work better) going down from the sole of each foot. Visualise
this line with an arrowhead pointing down into the ground, however far feels right
for you.

Then do the same with a line coming out of the base of your spine. Imagine it
going down until the three lines meet, forming the point of one arrowhead. When
I do this exercise, I like to use the image of rusty iron cables such as the ones used
on building construction sites. When you do this properly and stand there for at
least three minutes, you will feel energy going right through your body. It is a fizzy
feeling, recharging your battery. It is nothing to worry about if you tremble or sway
a little, as it means that you have successfully grounded yourself and are in the arms
of the Universe.

After grounding yourself, stay in the same position and invoke the Archangel
Michael. It is helpful to speak the following words out loud:

Archangel Michael, please:
1. Disconnect me from all the energies that are not mine.
2. I surround myself with a Golden Egg of Protection.
3. All energies are reflected back into Golden Light

Allow yourself time to take in this energising protective and loving energy. Say
thank you in your own way and start your day. These two exercises will take five or
less minutes of your time each day, but will add so much wonder to it!
If you do this exercise once every morning for at least three months, it will soon
become a part of your energy body, activating in only a few seconds. This exercise
can bring a feeling of balance and well-being.

In the Buddhist tradition, this year, June 2nd is the commemoration of Lord Buddha's birth, enlightenment, and parinirvana (passing from this world); it is the holiest day of the year for Buddhists around the world. It is our belief that because Buddha Shakyamuni prayed for all sentient beings to achieve enlightenment, and he achieved enlightenment on this day, the merits of our virtuous and positive actions will be multiplied 100,000 times over, especially good deeds done on the full moon of Tuesday, June 2, 2015.

The Gyuto Monks would like to ask all of our friends and members to participate in this very important occasion by making a concerted effort to take positive steps in helping others in whatever small ways possible. For instance, one could volunteer at a local shelter or soup kitchen, be a vegetarian for the month, or even for the single day of June 2nd for the sake of others around the world, assist the elderly, offer one's services to local charities, and/or spending time with the sick and home bound. These acts will benefit not only others but ourselves as well, many times over.
